Who Needs Husbands?

Please bear with me while I have a bit of a moan....

I'm tired pretty much all the time these days and I'm overwhelmed with my life as it stands at this moment so needless to say I'm scared shitless of what life will be like once the twins are born. I work full-time, I get Lizzie ready in the morning, make her lunch and do both the drop-off and pick-up almost (if not all) all the time. I work from home 2 days a week which makes this a bit easier but when I'm in the office I work 35 miles away from my home which generally means lots of traffic and lots of stress. I also feed Lizzie dinner every night and then Greg takes over when he gets home (at 6:45) and does bath and bedtime (I also help get things ready for bedtime while she is in the bath). While he is doing that I make us dinner and clean up the playroom if need be. Thankfully the cleaners come every other week but in the meantime it is nice to have a certain state of neatness if not cleanliness. Oh, and did I mention I'm also growing two humans inside me?

Before I go any further in my moaning, I would like to state that I love my husband very much and he's great with fixing things and renovations but he is really annoying the crap out of me lately and at this point I'm starting to think life would be easier for me if he wasn't around. There would certainly be less for me to pick up. He is a slob folks. A big fat slob and it's driving me crazy. There are tools scattered about the house because he never puts them away when he's done. Nothing gets put away so nothing can ever be found. I can't tell you how many times he's been in a state of panic because he can't find his phone/train ticket/wallet. Coats get thrown over the back of chairs instead of being hung up. Clothing that can be re-worn is thrown over the side of the hamper which means when I go to do the laundry I'm never sure what is clean and what isn't.

I blame, in part, his mother. She never made her kids clean up their rooms. She said she thought there was always something better for them to be doing so she did it for them. I can't vouch for his brother because I've only met him twice and he lives on the other side of the world but Greg and and his sister definitely don't excel at picking up after themselves.

So, ladies, if you are going to marry someone in their late twenties and beyond, make sure they are already well trained and not as stubborn as my husband. Otherwise you can always count on having, at a minimum, one child to pick up after. Thanks for letting me have a moan. I think this pregnancy has left me with very little patience and Lizzie is getting whatever little I have.

Hang in there! I know what is like to pick up after a grown up! The laundry just never seems to end! Congrats on the babies!

Oh dear. No wonder Lizzie learned the phrase Bad Daddy!

In the mean time, keep on growing those babies and try not to stress. I know, easier said than done. You have a very short time left to be the Sly Family of Three. Enjoy it, try not to kill Greg, and let me know whenever you want to get together for a (with or without kids) luncheon to vent!

Being pregnant with the twins was sometimes harder then having them here to tend to. Your body is just so worn out from it all.

Moan away.

Sounds like you could use a bit of a rest!

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with life and the thought of how much harder it is going to get. Chris does a lot of cooking, which helps, but the creeping mess of our house gets me down.

Maybe not all the stuff we say to each other behind closed doors is appropriate for broadcast on the Internet. Oops, look there, I did it too. This might catch on.

Wow!!! You sound really over stressed! Is it fair to blame other people for everything that''s going on? And are you going to own all the problems that your children will inevitably have when they are grown up or are you going to blame others for that too?

Hmmmm, that last 'anonymous' post - I'm not impressed! Leave the girl alone. She has hormones up to the eyeballs, a toddler (which in itself must be pretty hard work, I can't even being to imagine), a tough job, a long commute, and she's growing two more little babies - at the same time! She is entitled to feel it all on top of her from time to time and need to vent. I say go, girl! Vent away! You'll feel much better afterwards.

Anyways, I know how much she loves Greg, always has, always will. Yep, she speaks her mind but she is one of the most loving loyal people I know.
