I went for my first ultrasound today. I must admit, both my husband and I were very nervous. We had two main questions on our minds, would we see a heartbeat and would it be one or two? Thankfully we didn't have to wait long before they called us in. We had a great ultrasound tech who detailed everything she was showing us. And the first thing we saw? Two gestational sacs! Yes, that's right, two. And in those two sacs were two beautiful embryos with strong beating hearts. Baby A had a heartrate of 119 and Baby B had a heartrate of 117. We even got to hear those wonderful notes. I swear that is the best sound in the world. They also both measured at exactly 6 weeks and 4 days which was perfect.
So, needless to say we were both stunned and excited. Beating hearts! Yippee! Twins! Eek! We have a lot to think about now, a lot to get used to. It will definitely make life very interesting starting about 8 months from now. Lizzie is going to have the shock of her life. Thankfully she is still little so there will come a day when she won't remember being on her own. Now...about that mini-van we're going to have to buy...any recommendations?

Congrats!! That's awesome.
Becca,
I'M so happy for you guy's, what 2 blessed babies to be joining your family. Lizzie will make a great big sister. My vote is for the Honda oddessy Mini van. I felt it was the safest and it rides like a car.
with Prayers for a good pregnancy,
Jenn
Wow, hun, that's amazing news! I'm so pleased for you both. So you got three after all! :) Still trying to catch up over here in Blighty.

Congrats on your double!
Oh my goodness! Congratulations! I can't believe there are two little peanuts in there :) Lizzy will be such a great big sister, she can help play 'mommy' by fetching diapers etc :)
Congratulations on the great scan! And good luck with the twin-preparation. Just promise me you won't give them matching names, like Jaden and Kaden.
Congrats!
The Sienna. :)
just found your blogafter reading your comment on nonlinear girl's.
i've read a bit and will read more.
twins have always been something that has me say, "lucky, lucky you."
amazing.
Congrats on a fabulous scan. I have a Plymouth Grand Voyager that has been great (they only make the Dodge Caravan version now) but the Honda minivan has a feature I LOVE it has windows that roll down on the sliding doors (at least the model my friend has does that).

Congrats on the twins! My brother in law just had his third (he has 3boys under 5 years old) and bought a Dodge Durango. Apparently, they're giving them away like hotcakes because no one wants to pay for the gas. Good luck!
